Touchette Regional Hospital has announced today that it will host a Community Health Day in East Carondelet, Ill for community members of East Carondelet and Dupo. The event will be held Saturday, May 19 at the East Carondelet Community Center, 832 State St., in East Carondelet, Ill. and will occur from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Individuals throughout the area who attend will have an opportunity to receive a number of health screenings as well as resources; health insurance is not required. People of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend; no one will be turned away. Some services will require scheduled future appointments.
“Making healthcare accessible is a large part of what we believe in at Touchette,” said Felecia Jackson, Community Outreach Specialist. “We have been working closely with Mayor Simmons of East Carondelet and Mayor Wilson of Dupo. They appreciate events like these, as they place necessary health resources within reach for members of their communities.”
Just a few of the health screenings that will be available at the event include: blood pressure checks, fitness screenings, and HIV testing. Participants will also have the chance to receive information on breast health, domestic violence prevention services, drug and alcohol counseling and others.
