Touchette Regional Hospital (TRH) announces that Mr. Ellis Hawkins has joined us as our new President as of January 3, 2023.

Ellis Hawkins is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He was named President of SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in January 2014. He most recently was named President of SSM Health DePaul Hospital September 4, 2018. He rejoined SSM Health after serving as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Phelps County Regional Medical Center (PCRMC) in Rolla, Missouri.
Ellis is a tested healthcare executive with more than 26 years of experience in operations and financial management, performance improvement, strategic planning, clinical integration, physician relations, and service line development. Having emerged as a leader within SSM Health has allowed Ellis to develop collaborative, team orientated and outcome-focused leadership competencies.
He started his health care career as a radiological technologist with St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois before coming to the metro-east area to service as a Manager of Radiation Oncology. Since that time, Mr. Hawkins spent nearly twenty (20) years with SSM Health. His experience in ambulatory services and hospital leadership included work in addressing health inequities through the acquisition of a $5.3M grant to provide safety net care to patients within DePaul’s primary service area. He has shared his stories of his success through engaging relationship building for team development, programmatic growth, driving cultural change that advances initiatives, and the creation of collaborative relationships with medical staff and throughout all levels of vastly complex organizations.
