Touchette Regional Hospital Offers Enhanced Transportation Services with Addition of New Fleet Vehicle

August 2, 2018

Touchette Regional Hospital (TRH) is pleased to announce the addition of a new para-transit van to its transportation services program.

Transportation services are provided by Touchette for patients who need a way to and from medical appointments, wellness visits and/or health education programs. With a fleet of 9 vehicles, this first-of-its-kind program has increased patient well-being by making access to healthcare attainable.

“For nearly 60 years, our efforts have been to break down the barriers that stand in the way of quality, compassionate healthcare everyone deserves,” says Sulbrena Day, PhD, chief operating officer of TRH. “The transportation services we provide for our patients allow them to make their healthcare a priority. The addition of our new ADA-compliant para-transit van allows us to transport more patients with a vehicle that accommodates their needs.”

The para-transit van can transport 12 passengers and is wheelchair accessible. The 12 seats have the ability to fold up in an effort to comfortably house multiple wheelchair-bound travelers.

Touchette’s transportation services has assisted hospital patients living in Alton, Cahokia, Centreville, East St. Louis, Fairmont City, and Washington Park for over ten years. To contact the transportation services department, call: 618.332.5429
