As cold and flu season ramps up, Touchette Regional Hospital (TRH) wants to remind the public of its available laboratory services.
“A variety of tests can be performed in our lab and we want the public to know that testing for infections like the flu, mono, and strep throat are available with a provider’s order,” said Lana Sanchez, Director of Laboratory Services at TRH. “Since we’re in the heart of cold and flu season, we want to make sure people are aware they can have this kind of lab work done right here at Touchette.”
The lab technology offered at TRH delivers accurate and timely data for patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of conditions such as diabetes, heart attacks, infections, and cancer.
Based on the type of test ordered by medical providers, most lab testing can be performed on-site at TRH. In the event offsite testing is required, TRH uses LabCorp, an offsite reference lab facility. LabCorp provides leading-edge medical laboratory tests and services through a national network of primary clinical laboratories and specialized Centers of Excellence.
The laboratory department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for inpatient needs. Outpatient lab collections are available on a walk-in basis with a provider’s order and are collected every day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. For a complete list of available lab services, please call at 618.332.5472.
